Our family has made more solid and meaningful connections in the last 2 years then we had in our whole lives prior. Turning that away is heart breaking. I’m always going to compare where we live to living in these mountains. They’ve set the bar high!
If you have a family, or are planning to start one, you have hit the jackpot. The ‘Villa’ is a highly desirable area in the mountains because of the neighborhood. Loma Prieta Elementary and CT English are exceptional schools. There are a few fun events for the community hosted by the LPEF and the whole mountain comes to life. There is a small community feel to these mountains that makes the residents feel accountable for the area. As a result the schools and surrounding parks are well kept. This community is unlike any other and you’re in for a real treat.
If you are just looking to get away from the hustle and bustle this is a great mountain home. Quiet and beautiful with friendly neighbors. There’s a little something special here for everyone!
Local amenities that I have found to be a real “plus” are having a full grocery store minutes away. You must try the sandwiches and have a latte. ’95033talk’ on yahoo groups is a great source of information. Downtown Los Gatos and Scotts Valley are very close by and great for your shopping needs. The beach in Santa Cruz and Capitola are less than 20 minutes away on back roads with no traffic so brush off your boogie boards. The Summit Woods has a huge Halloween block party for trick or treating. Enjoy the Summit Tree farm and other hikes in this area. The views are amazing! Last but not least, don’t be surprised to host some interesting critters in the back yard like Stella Jays, banana slugs, newts, and woodpeckers to name a few.
